Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway theorized that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is depending on House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) because she doesn’t trust Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) to handle it.
Recent impeachments of former presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton were handled through the Judiciary Committee, not the Intelligence Committee, so it seems odd that Pelosi would not also use that committee.
Special Report host Brett Baier brought up the topic on his show, saying, “The process laid out in the resolution before us is different than the processes used for both President Nixon in 1974 and President Clinton in 1998.”
“[S]he recognizes that Jerry Nadler is very bad at running hearings,” Hemingway said. “He’s had disasters when he’s had people — whether it was Robert Mueller, Corey Lewandowski or John Dean. Those hearings did not go well. It’s really a testament to how little she trusts Nadler.”
I would offer that Schiff is no better than Nadler. Maybe he can be a better cheater and liar, though; he’s really good at that.
