Former Hillary Clinton aide Peter Daou went after House Judiciary chair Jerry Nadler (D-NY) Friday and hinted that he might run against the powerful House member for his lack of action on impeachment of President Donald Trump.
‘The Democratic party leadership needs to change,” Daou said, also criticizing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in his remarks. Daou vowed that if he won Nadler’s House seat in New York, he would immediately bring impeachment proceedings against Trump.
Nadler has represented New York’s 10th District since 1992. The Judiciary Committee has issued several subpoenas for testimony by individuals includin Attorney General William Barr and former White House Counsel Don McGahn, which they have ignored.
Daou also said that Nadler and Pelosi are ‘failing colossally at this point’ because they are still debating imeachment proceedings.
“We are facing a threat we’ve never faced before — certainly within our lifetimes — and that’s an autocrat as a president, somebody who has no respect for the rule of law,” Daou said of Trump.
