Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has launched the lawsuit that could FINALLY take down Nancy Pelosi and every other member of the U.S. House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, claiming the committee is unconstitutionally usurping executive branch authority.
The lawsuit is being filed in the federal district court for the District of Columbia, came after Representative Bennie Thompson, a Democrat from Georgia, announced that the committee would pursue criminal contempt charges against Mark Meadows.
The letter from Bennie Thompson was even made public.
Letter from Bennie Thompson to Mark Meadows’ attorney concludes:
“The Select Committee is left with no choice but to advance contempt proceedings and recommend that the body in which Mr. Meadows once served refer him for criminal prosecution” pic.twitter.com/ahiwtgTaub

The lawsuit filed by Meadows states that the committee is demanding that Meadows violate both executive privilege AND the Constitution of the United States of America. Meadows additionally alleges that the committee is pressuring Mark’s cell phone provider to break the law.
An excerpt from Meadows’ lawsuit shows that his goal of this legal action is to get the courts to say what the law is.
“Mr. Meadows, a witness, has been put in the untenable position of choosing between conflicting privilege claims that are of constitutional origin and dimension and having to either risk enforcement of the subpoena issued to him, not merely by the House of Representatives, but through actions by the Executive and Judicial Branches, or, alternatively, unilaterally abandoning the former president’s claims of privileges and immunities. Thus, Mr. Meadows turns to the courts to say what the law is.”
