It’s far from the end goal, but it’s a start.
Mark Zuckerberg’s companies are FINALLY getting investigated for their impact on American society, specifically children.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the effects of Instagram on children are being investigated by a “bipartisan coalition of state attorneys general.”
Nebraska’s Attorney General Doug Peterson, a Republican, said that “When social media platforms treat our children as mere commodities to manipulate for longer screen time engagement and data extraction, it becomes imperative for state attorneys general to engage our investigative authority under our consumer protection laws.”
The Wall Street Journal also claims that Zuckerberg and friends were completely aware of the negative impact Instagram was having on children, and chose not to address the issue.
Well, if he won’t do it himself, we’ll do it for him.
