Rep. Ilhan Omar can’t seem to stay out of the news. Her anti-Semitic beliefs continue to haunt her, and a past arrest for criminal trespassing is back in the spotlight. Now she’s been further exposed by a connection to terror.
Omar tweeted about working with an advocacy group “to talk about Hoda Abdelmonem, a political prisoner in Egypt. I hope that Trump brings up her case in his meeting with the regime that has imprisoned her. We must work to #FreeHoda.”
Here’s the problem: The woman is currently imprisoned due to suspected Muslim Brotherhood ties. This radical Islamist front needs no introduction — it has been designated by seven countries as a terrorist organization.
Abdelmonem was arrested in Egypt last November and continues to be detained by authorities. Back in 2014, she was even quoted as identifying with the Muslim Brotherhood, so it’s no wonder her office has not responded to inquiries.
At the time, Abdelmonem was spinning propaganda for the terror-connected group about their supposed ‘support’ for female voices. “It’s not true that women’s opinions are only considered because the men are absent. It was always like this,” she said.
Omar describes herself on her Twitter profile as an “Intersectional Feminist,” which makes one wonder what the term actually means. It certainly has nothing to do with standing up for women being oppressed by Islamic extremism.
