Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is in big trouble. The radical congresswoman was just caught in a major reversal, and she’s finished now. There’s no escape.
In yet another hit to Omar’s credibility, the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board has fined her for misusing campaign funds — effectively reversing her unethical choice to use the funds on personal luxuries.
Omar must now shell out $4,000 as a result of her behavior, with $500 going to pay a state penalty and $3,500 to reimburse her campaign committee.
How she miused the funds is even more shocking: Trips to Boston and Chicago, payments to law firms, and even paying off her taxes. Omar knows the law; she just refused to follow it.
The complaint against her was brought by state Rep. Steve Drazkowski, who said, “I had observed a long pattern. […] She’s repeatedly trampled on the laws of the state in a variety of areas, and gotten by with it.”
There’s going to come a time when Omar’s constituents will decide that she’s too much trouble and doesn’t represent them well. When that happens, she will be replaced by someone who will look out for their interests and not her own.
