Despite losing the 2016 election and, in the process, alienating many fellow Democrats with her out-of-touch campaign and questionable ethics, Hillary Clinton has continued to be considered a potential nominee for the 2020 election.
However, speculation on whether Clinton will seek a rematch against President Trump is arguably ended now that political insiders have confirmed meetings between her and potential Democrat candidates seeking her endorsement.
This month, Clinton met with former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Amy Klobuchar. In January, she met with Sen. Kamala Harris, Sen. Cory Booker, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
While these meetings suggest that Clinton no longer sees herself as a viable candidate, they also show that the Clintons remain a force to be reckoned with in the Democratic Party. Hillary retains a loyal following, and that following translates into votes that can make or break a candidate.
