A Houston speech by Hillary Clinton attacked President Donald Trump for spreading a disputed video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, causing listeners to wonder if she was thinking about running against him in 2020.
Clinton called the disputed video, which depicted the Speaker seeming to be drunk, as “sexist trash” and said that Trump was “running scared,” Fox News reported.
Clinton also echoed comments by Pelosi and Rep. Jerry Nadler, (D-NY) that the nation was in a “constitutional crisis” because the Trump administration was ignoring subpoenas by House committees that want to continue to investigate Trump-Russia collusion even after the Mueller Report was released with no evidence of collusion.
Although Clinton appeared to say in March that she would not run for president in 2020, sources close to her said that it could still be a possibility if none of the 20 Democrats currently running emerges as a front runner.
Former Vice-President Joe Biden is the front runner so far with 35 percent of Democrats backing him. But his repeated gaffes and habit of kissing and putting his hands on women and girls might deter voters from supporting him as the primaries get closer. It’s obvious that Clinton is keeping her options open in case Biden implodes.
