Tragic news out of the Seattle area has authorities on high alert. A mutilated body was discovered, and at least two suspects are in custody. Both of them are illegal immigrants with criminal records.
Shockingly, high school student Juan Carlos Con Guzman was beaten with a baseball bat and then dismembered with a machete. Carlos Daniel Iraheta-Vega and Rudy Osvaldo Garcia-Hernandez have admitted to the murder.
What’s even more tragic is that this grisly slaying could have been prevented, but the liberal policies in King County, Washington, discourage cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Ken Cuccinelli, the acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, did not mince words in a recent interview about how this crime and others like it never had to happen. So-called ‘sanctuary’ policies are the problem.
“You’re literally crimes that never should have happened in this country because they’re people who, upon their first interaction with the justice system, should have been deported,” said Cuccinelli.
The two suspects, Mr. Iraheta-Vega and Mr. Garcia-Hernandez, reportedly have strong ties to MS-13. It is also being reported that the county government refused to turn the men over to ICE before the crime was even committed.
