R&B artist R. Kelly is facing more sex crimes charges, this time in Minnesota where he is alleged to have paid $200 to an underage fan to dance and engage in sex acts with him.
Kelly was charged with engaging in prostitution with someone under 18, and hiring/offering/agreeing to hire someone for sexual contact in the incident, according to TMZ.
The singer is also facing numerous charges in Illinois and in New York City, where he remains in custody. The charges range from kidnapping to child porn and aggravated sexual abuse.
Kelly’s lawyer Douglas Anton tweeted that the charges are “beyond absurd.”
“Frankly I don’t understand where the criminal activity exists in this matter,” Anton said. “But I believe this highlights what has now become the absurdity of the bulk of the charges against our client.”
