The catastrophic effects of left-wing globalist policies in Europe are reaping victories for the right — and George Soros is worried.
The billionaire financier of leftist causes is so worried, in fact, that he posted an op-ed sounding the alarm about “anti-European forces” potentially dominating the EU’s parliamentary election in May.
“Europe is sleepwalking into oblivion,” Soros said, “and the people of Europe need to wake up before it is too late.”
Angered by the Brexit and by reactions against the overwhelming influx of immigrants, Soros pointed the blame at everything from the “outdated party system” to “the lack of legal tools for disciplining member states that violate the principles on which the European Union was founded.” What he should be blaming is his own open-borders utopian dream that, in reality, overburdens host countries, cripples their economies and threatens their cultures and values.
