In a sign of the left’s shifting political narrative, MSNBC host Joy Reid turned on special counsel Robert Mueller, whose final report on the Russia collusion probe dashed the left’s dreams of destroying the Trump administration.
During a Saturday panel discussion, Reid claimed the probe’s conclusion “feels like the seeds of a cover-up.”
“The fact that this investigation takes place within the Justice Department which Donald Trump essentially controls and that he got rid of the problem, Jeff Sessions, who the one decent thing that he did was just recuse himself, this guy is not recused, it feels like the seeds of a cover-up are here,” Reid said.
Mueller also seems to have fallen into the crosshairs of congressional Democrats displeased with his performance and eager for his full report to be made public.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff warned that if the Department of Justice fails to release the entire report, he will subpoena Mueller, who is quickly turning from hero to pariah in rabidly anti-Trump Washington.
(The Department of Justice) should cooperate willingly, but if it doesn’t, we will have to subpoena the evidence, subpoena Mueller or others,” Schiff said.
