John Bolton is a loose cannon and a general source of worry in the White House, but thankfully Trump is more committed to peace than Bolton is to war.
Fox News reports:
“U.S. national security adviser John Bolton had a message for Iran on Sunday during his visit to Israel: He advised the leaders of the Islamic nation not to “mistake U.S. prudence and discretion for weakness.”
While what Bolton says is right, but his hawkish attitude and eagerness for war is a problem.
Iran should fear our power, and they may need reminders of it. But to avoid war is the best path, and there are peaceful ways to show Iran we are in control. Thankfully it seems Trump has made this goal clear to Bolton.
The Hill reports:
“The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime,” Bolton added, but it is sending “a clear and unmistakable message … that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force.”
This is a powerful yet safe position for the U.S. One thing is certain – we don’t want Iraq all over again.
