Tate Myre had been a varsity football player at Oxford High School since his freshman year. Anyone who played sports back in the day will realize just how great of an accomplishment something like this is for a young athlete.
Unfortunately, despite Tate Myre excelling for his school, the young man is never going to see if he has what it takes to compete at the next level.
He was shot to death by sophomore Ethan Crumbley, a 15-year-old at Myre’s school.
Ethan Crumbley brought a gun to his Michigan school and began shooting, killing Crumbley and three others, injuring eight more.
Tate Myre died while trying to disarm the murderer, who will be tried as an adult.
He went from being a hero on the gridiron to his classmates to being their real-life hero.
Thank you, Tate. Rest in Peace.
