Former Speaker of the House and Fox News contributor Newt Gingrich has made an announcement that every American should heed.
In an op-ed for Newsweek, Gingrich draws a historical parallel between President Trump and President Lincoln, particularly where media treatment is concerned. He recently told Trump that “no president since Abraham Lincoln had faced the kind of unending bias and hostility that he is living through.”
The news media has been out to get Trump from the beginning, and there’s a reason why he rails against “fake news” so often. Similarly, Gingrich writes, “President Lincoln felt that a significant front in his war to preserve the Union was against the news media.”
Gingrich’s words couldn’t be more timely. Americans are tired of one-side reporting and a biased political agenda coming from the media. It’s one of the reasons why Trump was elected in 2016; people wanted a president who would take on the news and political establishment to get this nation working for us again.
