Judge Jeanine Pirro took a break from her usual stern persona to give a tender tribute to her late mother.
Esther Ferris died on April 25 at the age of 90 while battling pancreatic cancer.
Born in New York, Ferris grew up in Lebanon and eventually returned to the U.S., where she raised Jeanine and her sister, Mary
“She was my hero, my backbone, my inspiration, my rock, my mentor and my muse,” Pirro said.
“She taught me to fight — fight for the victim, the weak, people who couldn’t take care of themselves — long before it was vogue to do so.”
Pirro broke down as she bade farewell to her mother, saying, “I’ll miss talking to you after the show every Saturday night.”
