Former FBI Director James Comey is in serious trouble. A blackmail discovery was just made, and it’s come from the FBI itself.
James Baker, who served as the FBI’s general counsel under Comey, revealed in a Fox News interview his major concern that Comey was trying to blackmail President Trump with the now-debunked ‘Steele dossier’.
Baker recalled that he was “quite worried” about it, especially once the Hoover analogies surfaced in the agency. Hoover, as Americans know, was known to abuse his power and even engage in blackmail.
This is especially stunning since Hoover served as the agency’s first FBI director, and, over time, his reputation was tarnished beyond repair.
Baker said that he and his colleagues at the FBI “were determined not to have such a disaster happen on our watch” and hoped to avoid comparisons to Hoover’s “legacy” entirely.
The sense of dread Baker expressed is shocking. He was clearly concerned about Comey interacting with Trump and using the dossier as blackmail. Unfortunately for Comey, however, Trump never took the bait.
