Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was just humiliated, and he should think twice about trying to buy his way into the White House. He can’t even get basic numbers right.
Bloomberg, a late entry into the Democratic primary, has built a political career on being anti-Second Amendment. The latest example is his deceitful ad on gun-related deaths involving children.
According to his ad, which ran during the Super Bowl, “2,900 children die from gun violence every year” — a claim that completely falls apart when looking at the statistics.
Stephen Gutowski with the Washington Free Beacon noted while the ad didn’t cite a source, “the number matches this report from Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety.”
“Their stat includes 18 and 19-year-olds which appear to make up about 49% of the total deaths,” noted Gutkowski, meaning Bloomberg included young adults in his ad to make the number seem higher.
Removing adults brings the number to 1,499 gun-related deaths per year involving children. The death of any child is a horrific tragedy, but Bloomberg just proved he is willing to lie to spread his anti-gun propaganda.
