After months of back-and-forth, he’s not going to do it.
Elon Musk has declared his intention to pull out of his $44 BILLION purchase of Twitter.
Lawyers representing Musk said the pullout “was due to Twitter failing to respond to requests for information on the number of bot and spam accounts on the platform, Reuters reports. Twitter shares fell six percent on the news.”
Musk initially announced in April that he intended to buy the platform.
His intention was to restore free speech to the platform after years of biased censorship from the company’s current administration.
Based on how much trouble they gave him despite the premium price Musk was willing to pay, it’s no wonder Elon didn’t want to be tangled up with Twitter’s snakes for very much longer.
Despite how difficult Twitter has been, the board seemed shocked to hear that Musk had tired of their baloney.
The Twitter Board is committed to closing the transaction on the price and terms agreed upon with Mr. Musk and plans to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement. We are confident we will prevail in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
