Nobody is really happy with the job liberals in the Senate are doing right now. Even the liberals in the Senate aren’t happy with what liberals in the Senate are doing right now.
Complete dysfunction is what a lot of people are calling it, as in 2021 alone Schumer has failed to yet pass the routine National Defense Authorization Act, a new debt ceiling, or Biden’s massive $1.9 TRILLION reconciliation package.
Schumer has promised these things will get done by Christmas. However, it appears almost impossible that the deliberative body will deliver. They are government workers that are months behind already, what do you expect? In case you haven’t noticed, things involving the federal government very rarely go smoothly, especially with the left in charge.
Senators are getting tired of Chuck not being able to get ANYTHING done. Even liberal Senators.
After Republican Mike Rounds of South Dakota pointed out Schumer’s failures to Politico, Democrats came out of the woodwork to support him.
“Here we are in December, we don’t have a national defense authorization act completed. We don’t have an appropriations process completed. We’ve got a debt ceiling limit we’re going to run up against once again. And there’s only four or five items for the whole year you’re expected to get done,” Rounds said.
In response, Democrat Chris Coons from Delaware came out and announced that Rounds was completely correct.
“Our national politics have become less and less tolerant, less and less respectful, less and less constructive, and we’re a representative body. Clearly there’s a rising number of House and Senate members whose home states are saying, ‘go to Washington and stop those fill-in-the-blank.'”
