A verbal brawl broke out Thursday afternoon between conservative guests at a Trump media summit and journalists covering his remarks on the citizenship question for the 2020 Census, Breitbart News reported.
The guests, including Sebastian Gorka, Joy Villa and James O’Keefe, had attended the summit to discuss the left’s attempts to censor conservatives on Google and social media, and were then invited to the press conference later in the day.
The conflict started when Playboy reporter Brian Karem openly commented that the conservative journalists were “eager for demonic possession” and others laughed at his comment. Gorka responded “And you’re a journalist, right,” and was threatened by Karem.
Gorka then called Karem a “punk” and other conservatives also made comments to Karem and his nearby colleagues. CNN’s Jim Acosta posted a video on Twitter that left out Karem’s beginning comments and made it look like the conservatives had started the brawl.
In another tweet, Acosta put his finger on what may have sparked the animus int the first place by remarking that “Trump’s social media allies” were in the front and the White House press (called “fake news” by Joy Villa) were in the back. Poor babies.
