President Donald Trump just ended it. He informed Attorney General William Barr to make a huge move, and liberals are furious.
Using preexisting law, Barr has directed the Justice Department to seriously curb the federal government’s longstanding catch-and-release policy for illegal immigrants.
Like clockwork, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) — best known for their anti-American activism — released a statement on Barr’s move and promised a legal challenge.
“Our Constitution does not allow the government to lock up asylum seekers without basic due process. We’ll see the administration in court. Again.” tweeted the ACLU.
But Daily Caller reporter Amber Athey summed up Barr’s commonsense policy. “AG Bill Barr decides that asylum seekers who establish ‘credible fear’ are no longer eligible for bond,” she tweeted.
