Here’s a brief summary of the drama between Republican Chris Christie and Donald Trump that began as a result of the January 6 protests.
When evaluating the protest, Christie had this to say when visiting ABC news: “Let’s face it, let’s call this what it is, January 6th was a riot that was incited by Donald Trump in an effort to intimidate Mike Pence and the Congress into doing exactly what he said in his own words last week, overturn the election.”
Trump’s response to the claim was that Christie didn’t know what he was talking about, and was just using the public hostility toward Donald in order to boost his own brand.
This week, Christie took back his original claim and admitted that Trump was absolutely right.
Christie was asked by Hugh Hewitt if Trump “intended the 725 people who have been charged with one crime or another to break into the Capitol?”
Chris Christie responded by saying “I don’t think he intended that specific act, Hugh.”
