Donald Trump Jr. has become famous on social media for his blunt, honest takes on current events. He is an ardent defender of his father and a patriotic Amerian, and he just flatted his dad’s enemies once again.
On Twitter and Instagram, Trump Jr. responded to the Nike and Colin Kaepernick controversy. Sharing a photo of a sneaker with a communist hammer and sickle on it, he said, “seems to be more in line with their views.”
His full statement read: “If the Betsy Ross Flag, the flag of the American Revolution, is too offensive for Nike to commemorate The 4th of July maybe Nike should go with this… seems to be more in line with their views.”
This is classic Trump Jr., who isn’t afraid to speak the truth even if it offends some people. And with over 3.5 million Twitters followers and 1.8 million Instagram followers, he has plenty of influence.
He also couldn’t be more right with his criticism of Nike. Instead of honoring America as planned with a sneaker of the famous ‘Betsy Ross’ flag, the company buckled under pressure from NFL has-been Colin Kaepernick.
It seems easy to conclude that perhaps a shoe design with the communist hammer and sickle would be more appropriate for Nike. Americans seem to be agreeing, as boycotts of Nike have erupted nationwide.
