Country music legend and patriot Dolly Parton just went after Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) in a major way. She completely ruined Warren’s plan, and Americans nationwide are cheering.
In response to Sen. Warren using Parton’s classic song, “9 to 5,” in her presidential campaign announcement, Parton’s manager released the following statement: “We did not approve the request, and we do not approve requests like this of a political nature.”
Apparently, Warren wasn’t content with simply being known as ‘Pocahontas’ for the rest of her career after erroneously claiming Native American heritage — so her campaign doubled-down on fraud and committed copyright infringement.
In stark contrast, Parton always takes the classy road. She once told Fox News in an interview: “I don’t voice my political opinions. I just get out there and entertain. To me, that’s what I do. I don’t condemn them.” This is out of love for her fans.
“I respect my audience too much for that, I respect myself too much for that. Of course I have my own opinions, but that don’t mean I got to throw them out there because you’re going to piss off half the people,” she told The Guardian.
Warren’s run-in with Parton is yet another stumble for a politician who so desperately wants the spotlight. Unfortunately for her, though, she is currently tracking at only 9% in Iowa — a crucial 2020 testing ground — amongst likely Democratic voters.
