Former Vice President Dick Cheney will appear with his daughter, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) at a fundraiser for the Republican National Committee and Trump 2020 Re-election campaign in Jackson, Wyoming, the Washington Examiner reported.
White House adviser Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and Mick Mulvaney will also attend the fundraiser, but will not be referred to by their official titles because administration officials are not allowed to campaign for the president.
The former vice president has previously been critical of some Trump policies, calling his foreign policy isolationist and questioning his hard line on some NATO allies. Cheney did support Trump’s 2016 campaign, however, and was also involved in getting Rex Tillerson confirmed in the Senate.
“Rep. Cheney is honored to be co-hosting this event and working hard to support President Trump’s re-election,” a spokeswoman for Cheney said about his appearance. “The President’s policies are benefiting Wyoming and the nation.”
Cheney served as vice president under George W. Bush, who has been repeatedly critical of Trump and would not even endorse him in the 2016 election.
