The corridors of power in Washington were just rocked by a sudden resignation. She is leaving Congress without any warning — this is a developing story.
Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA) has resigned from Congress after reports surfaced — including photo evidence — alleging she engaged in sexual relationships with campaign staffers. Her final act was voting for the sham impeachment inquiry.
In a self-righteous speech from the House floor, Hill declared that she voted to move forward with impeachment against President Trump “because of the deepest abuse of power, including the abuse of power over women.”
She also accused the president of corruption, obstruction of justice, and gross misconduct — convenient Democrat talking points without any evidence, as per usual.
Hill directly addressed her scandal as well, saying that she chose to leave Congress “because of a double standard” and a “misogynistic culture” that “enabled my abusive ex to continue that abuse.”
Instead of continuing her service, where she would “be a distraction from the constitutional crisis we’re faced with and the critical work of my colleagues,” she will “take my personal fight outside the halls of Congress.”
