Host of HBO’s Real Time Bill Maher said on the show Friday that he thinks both former President Bill and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton need to get out of the political spotlight, echoing the thoughts of more than one influential Democrat leader.
“The Clintons, they’ve got to go away,” Maher said. “I’m saying this now, a year out, or less, they can’t be at the convention, maybe on the video waving or something. But I’m serious.”
Hillary is a failed presidential candidate whose time as Secretary of State was marred by scandals including her use of a private email server to transmit classified information and the death of four Americans in the attack on our embassy in Benghazi.
Bill is one of only two presidents (at least for now) who have ever been impeached, and has been damaged by multiple allegations of sexual misconduct including affairs, harassment, and rape.
Maher agreed with Rep. Justin Amash (I-MI) that Hillary was a Russian assent and that Bill was damaged goods. “I just think they’ve got to go away,” he reiterated.
