Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is refusing to stay out of the spotlight, and she just popped off again with another conspiracy theory. Democrats are horrified.
The two-time presidential candidate, appearing on political strategist David Plouffe’s podcast, ‘Campaign HQ with David Plouffe,’ claimed that “10-year-olds are hacking our voting systems and the networks that connect them.”
She was reportedly referring to a story in which people were participating in what’s known as a DefCon Voting Machine Hacking Village. Participants were tasked with hacking a replica website to expose vulnerabilities.
But here’s the problem: The system used for this ‘hackathon’ is nowhere close to the actual systems used to handle elections from a security standpoint. It is difficult to directly compare the two scenarios.
Clinton also blamed the current government for refusing to look into the problem. She said that “we don’t have a government that is interested in protecting our elections,” which, of course, is another lie.
Plouffe served as campaign manager for Obama’s 2008 presidential run, so you’d think this would have been the perfect interview for her. But she’s so full of bitterness over the 2016 election, she can’t help but embarrass herself.
