Poor, poor Joe. Even Democrats don’t want anything to do with him now. ESPECIALLY the ones who might be facing a tough contest for reelection.
Usually, a President can benefit something called the “coattail effect,” where they get an undeserved boost in credibility as people in their party endorse them with the hope of being thought of in the same sentence with presumably the party leader.
But democrats don’t even see him as the leader of their party, much less the country.
Is that because they actually see him as a poor leader, or they just don’t want to be associated with his plummeting approval rating after this Afghanistan disaster?
To be honest, it’s probably a little bit of both.
