A horrific death announcement just rocked the White House. President Trump is devastated, and as the news spreads nationwide, Americans are sharing in the heartbreak.
Tragically, two U.S. troops have been killed in Afghanistan. “The names of the service members killed in action are being withheld until 24 hours after notification of next of kin is complete,” said NATO Resolute Support in Kabul.
Since October 2001, combat operations have continued in Afghanistan, though with far fewer troops than originally deployed as a response to the nearly 3,000 Americans murdered in cold blood on 9/11.
According to iCasualities.org, there have been 3,549 U.S. fatalities in Afghanistan to date, however, as operations have shifted tactics and strategy over the years, the annual number has dropped significantly.
No further details were immediately available on this particular operation that claimed the lives of these two soldiers, with the exception of a general location: the northern Kunduz province.
President Trump has a heart for our servicemen and servicewomen, and we know he is mourning this loss in spirit with their families and the rest of us.
