Former FBI Director James Comey was just caught red-handed in yet another scandal. It’s likely he has perjured himself. We finally got him.
According to an explosive new report, a slew of emails between FBI officials reveals that Comey couldn’t keep his story straight in congressional testimony and an attempt was made to muddy the waters.
In his testimony, Comey claimed that Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s former aide, forwarded “hundreds and thousands” of emails to then-Congressman Anthony Weiner. This was “a regular practice,” he said.
Comey even said that some of the emails were classified, and the purpose of forwarding them to Weiner was for printing physical copies. The emails, of course, came directly from Abedin’s former boss, Hillary Clinton.
At the FBI, the situation exploded internally after a ProPublica story came out calling Comey’s testimony “inaccurate.” A letter to Congress was drafted and sent around for review by Comey’s chief of staff, Jim Rybicki.
“Below is a draft that has been reviewed by the Director. Please let me know your thoughts,” he wrote. The final letter sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee claimed that only a “small number” of the emails on Weiner’s laptop were forwarded by his wife.
