Christmas BANNED at school

Another school has banned Christmas – but their reason for doing so isn’t the typical one.

Lady Lumley’s school in North Yorkshire has said that Christmas is “too commercialized.” School staff stated that “Christmas is a day celebrating the birth of Jesus and should be a time of goodwill to all, yet it can be a very stressful, expensive, argumentative and lonely time.”

Staff went on to challenge students to understand the real meaning of Christmas. Students have until November 30 to email the school’s Religious Education teacher to persuade her that the school should celebrate the holiday.

Hopefully, the school’s staff are trying to teach kids a valuable lesson about the true meaning of Christmas without actually spoiling the holiday fun. What do you think about the school’s idea? Vote below!
