Someone was just charged with murder in a horrific slaying that has rattled the nation. President Donald Trump is paying close attention to the case and has spoken out.
Americans were shocked to hear about retired St. Louis police captain, 77-year-old David Dorn, being gunned gun during a violent night of rioting in the city, but a suspect has been arrested and charged.
“Stephan Cannon, 24, has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, and three counts of armed criminal action,” reported the Washington Examiner.
Dorn, a black man, was “shot and killed outside a pawnshop in the city, which is owned by a friend,” continued the report. He often provided volunteer security for the store.
Tragically, Dorn was killed by one of the many looters ravaging the city that night and Cannon stands accused of shooting Dorn and then “approaching the door to the pawnshop.”
“Our highest respect to the family of David Dorn, a Great Police Captain from St. Louis, who was viciously shot and killed by despicable looters,” said Trump following the tragedy.
