Fox News’ Brit Hume just publicly confirmed the rumors to millions of Americans. The Democrats better say ‘farewell’ to their entire impeachment witch-hunt — Hume has exposed it as a total lie.
The Washington Post reported that a former White House official who testified against President Trump “was deeply troubled by what he interpreted as an attempt by the president to subvert U.S. foreign policy,” but Hume ended this narrative.
On Twitter, he said, “There is a huge fallacy in this. Anyone know what it is?” Others responded with some solid answers. One person guessed, “His ‘interpretation’ is what it is, his take, not what he has actually heard.”
“Actually, it’s the fact that the president is the constitutional author of foreign policy, so the idea he is ‘subverting’ it is illogical,” said Hume, revealing the key flaw in the former official’s testimony.
Hume is saying that the president ultimately sets foreign policy; it is his constitutional prerogative to negotiate with foreign leaders. This one of the reasons why Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian president was legally appropriate.
Of course, anti-Trump Democrats like to manufacture one crisis after another in order to keep Trump from his work on behalf of the American people. But the president won’t be deterred by political partisans trying to take him down.
