Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg just made a stunning election announcement and Democrats are shocked. Not even Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), expected this to happen.
“One of the things that I think we and other media need to start doing is preparing the American people that there’s nothing illegitimate about this election taking additional days, or even weeks to make sure that all the votes are counted,” said Zuckerberg.
The Silicon Valley icon was being interviewed by Axios on HBO, and his suggestion that the media should be “preparing the American people” for an extended election is an absurd prospect — one may even consider it terrifying.
Why? Because this is how the media builds a narrative before an event actually occurs. The point, then, is to get people riled up and worried about something that may not happen — or there could even be something more nefarious going on.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, for example, recently suggested that Biden should not concede on election night “under any circumstances.” She also mentioned how Democrats “have a massive legal operation” in order to fight in the courts.
This means Democrats are looking to string out the election as much as possible and use the courts to slow things down. At the same time, Zuckerberg said that Facebook will be sending out “different messages” directing election-related information.
