The FISA court responsible for approving warrants for surveillance on President Donald Trump campaign official Carter Page has ordered a review of all other warrant applications by Kevin Clinesmith after an inspector general report said that numerous serious errors were made by him in the application process.
The order was given on December 5th and declassified only on Friday. It asked for all documents pertaining to other warrant applications by Clinesmith as well as asking the FBI what steps were taken to verify the information in those applications.
It also asks whether Clinesmith was referred to appropriate bar associations for investigation or possible disciplinary action.
Clinesmith has resigned from the FBI over the errors and is now under criminal investigation for his conduct. He has not yet been charged with a crime.
It was not clear whether the secret court would make its findings about Clinesmith known to the public.
