The White House sent a mixed message about vandalism of pro-life institutions Monday, condemning protesters’ actions but indicating sympathy for their cause.
Press Secretary Jen Psaki was clear that President Joe Biden did not support vandalism of a Catholic church and pro-life center by pro-abortion activists, but couldn’t just leave it at that.
“We have seen it at Catholic churches, that’s unacceptable,” she said of the actions, which included a Molotov cocktail at a pro-life center. “The president does not support that.”
“We know the passion, we understand the passion, we understand the concern,” she had to add, however.
She also continued to dodge questions about whether activists should protest at SCOTUS justices’ homes, saying, “We’re not here to give tactical advice to protesters.”
