The White House believes that it is acceptable for 2,000 politicians and press members to pack into a ballroom without masks for the White House Correspondents Dinner, but it’s not acceptable for airline passengers and staff to be in airports and fly without them.
This is despite the fact that airplanes have top notch air filtration systems that make it nearly impossible to be infected with COVID on an airplane.
Fox News’s Brett Baier asked Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg about the decision to sue over a federal judge’s ruling that the CDC doesn’t have the authority to order mask wearing on public transportation, and Buttigieg didn’t have a good answer for him.
“Most of us understand the difference between a hotel ballroom and an airplane,” he tried to argue.
That kind of non-answer is part of why Democrats are badly trailing in all major polls ahead of the mid-terms. Americans know it’s more about arbitrary control than safety or health.
