White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Thursday that there were no plans to put House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in power if both President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence were both to become infected with the coronavirus at the same time.
“You know that’s not even something we’re addressing. We’re keeping the president healthy. We’re keeping the vice president healthy; and they are healthy at this moment, and they will continue to be,” McEnany said to reporters.
Pelosi is third in succession of power and would become president if both Trump and Pence were incapacitated or killed while in office, and leftists have been fantasizing about the possibility of a President Pelosi since she became speaker after the 2018 midterms gave Democrats the majority and she once again became speaker.
“The president’s healthy. The vice president’s healthy, and I think that’s something all reporters should be celebrating and the American people as well,” McEnany said.
Something tells me the left isn’t going to let it go that easily.
