The White House just went public and banned them. Democrats are absolutely infuriated by this move, but it was for the best. President Donald Trump has made it clear that this is no time to play games.
“The White House on Sunday announced that the U.S. would bar entry of non-citizens traveling from Brazil, which has seen a sharp rise in coronavirus cases in previous weeks,” reported Fox News this week.
According to Fox’s report, Brazil has sustained “more than 360,000 cases of COVID-19” and “recorded over 22,000 deaths,” and the infection rate hasn’t flattened enough for the U.S. to continue a regular travel relationship.
The White House’s statement made it clear that President Trump and his administration have “determined that the Federative Republic of Brazil is experiencing widespread, ongoing person-to-person transmission.”
Of course, Democrats continue to claim, erroneously, that Trump didn’t do enough to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and they continue to push this narrative — even as he restricts travel to the U.S. from troubled areas.
While the U.S. has certainly still be hit hard by the virus, fingers should be pointed at the Chinese government for being slow to even recognize its existence. An independent investigation must be launched to discover the full truth.
