Republicans are asking for the sources a whistleblower used to create a complaint against President Donald Trump that didn’t include any firsthand information or direct knowledge of the information it offered–and now seems to contain glaring inconsistencies.
GOP lawmakers questioned why those officials mentioned as sources in the report didn’t file their own complaint against Trump.
The complaint alleges that Trump specifically asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to turn over DNC servers to his administration, when no such request appears in the transcript of the July 25 phone call between the two.
Furthermore, the complaint says Trump suggested Zelensky keep his current prosecutor and that a State Department official was on the call between the two leaders. Neither of these are true either.
Finally, the complaint alleged that Trump was trying to hide the call, but in fact he treated it like other calls with world leaders because of the many leaks the administration has had from the Deep State.
