The honorary Taekwondo black belt bestowed on Russian President Vladimir Putin by World Taekwondo was rescinded by the group on Sunday because of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
The group condemned Putin’s “brutal attacks on innocent lives in Ukraine” and said it would not display the Russian and Belarusian flags or play their national anthems at future events.

The International Judo Federation (IJF) also rescinded Putin’s honorary presidency after the invasion.
Putin has a black belt in Judo and has written a book on martial arts.
