Marriot Hotels announced on Tuesday that 5.2 million of its guests had their information exposed in a data breach that occurred in January and was discovered in late February.
The company did not think any passwords or credit card information was obtained during the breach. Addresses, phone numbers, birthdays and gender may have been obtained, however.
The hack was not the first or the worse for Marriot. In 2018, a massive breach exposed records of up to 383 million guests.
The earlier hack was traced back to China.
Affected guests of the current breach will be notified by email, the company said.
