“We are writing to express great concern about reports that your office has taken steps to impede cooperation with the investigation of United States Special Counsel Robert Mueller,” wrote the Democratic senators.
The letter was addressed to Ukrainian General Prosecutor Yuriy Lutsenko, and, as readers can see, it is rife with innuendo. One can easily assume that Democrats did not want this particular communication brought back to light.
Relying on a New York Times piece, the senators railed against the Ukrainian government for allegedly halting “four open cases in Ukraine” and “thereby eliminating scope for cooperation with the Mueller probe.”
