Fox News star Tucker Carlson responded to allegations of derogatory comments made towards women on his show a decade ago.
Leftist watchdog organization Media Matters unearthed the inflammatory statements and recorded during one of Carlson’s appearances on a “shock jock” radio show.
According to The Hill, “in the audio clips surfaced by Media Matters, Carlson made a number of derogatory comments about women. He also made multiple observations about issues related to sexual abuse.”
The revelation sparked an uproar in the liberal media, with many calling for Carlson’s removal from television.
Tucker Carlson released a defiant statement Sunday, refusing to apologize for the decade-old comments. He declared in a tweet that “rather than express the usual ritual contrition, how about this: I’m on television every weeknight live for an hour. If you want to know what I think, you can watch.”
Despite Media Matters’ attempt to smear Carlson, Fox News stood by the star. The network declared that they would not allow his voice to be “censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts.”
