President Trump just achieved a major win this week, infuriating Democrats across the nation in the process.
The Senate just confirmed one of Trump’s nominations for 33rd federal appeals court. Chad A. Readler of Ohio was confirmed Wednesday after an extensive fight over the nomination.
Democrats are seething over news of the confirmation. Despite their best efforts, Readler was approved by a 52-to-47 vote. Every Democrat voted against Readler, but it simply wasn’t enough.
According to the New York Times, President Trump has now managed to fill “nearly 20 percent of the nation’s appellate court judgeships.”
This news comes as a nasty shock to Democrats because President Obama was unable to fill the same seat until his second term. President Trump is miles ahead of many of his predecessors in judicial confirmations.
It’s only two years into Trump’s term, and he has achieved historic numbers of appeals court nominee confirmations.
