President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he would agree with giving Americans even bigger second stimulus payments than the $1200 first payments that were distributed starting in April.
“I do. I support it. But it has to be done properly,” Trump said in a Fox News interview. “I support actually larger numbers than the Democrats.”
Trump didn’t say specifically how much he wanted the payments to be or how he thought they needed to be done.
In the same interview, he also said he was working on fixing the $600 per week extra unemployment payments so that people would no longer make more on unemployment than they did working.
“We had something where they wanted where it gave you a disincentive to work last time,” Trump said. “We want to create a very great incentive to work. So we’re working on that, and I’m sure it’ll all come together.”
