During a visit to Arizona, President Donald Trump signed a plaque at the U.S. border to signify 200 miles of border wall being built.
The signing happened as Trump was taking a tour along the border with Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ), Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ), and Gov. Doug Ducey, along with other officials in the state.
“It’s really foolproof,” Trump said after seeing the wall. “Its solid steel, it’s rebar and concrete inside the steel.”
Trump also said that Democrats have basically stopped fighting him on the issue of building a wall because it was working.
“The reason they gave up is because politically it’s unacceptable to say, especially with this new disease coming in,” he said, speaking of the coronavirus. “They don’t want to talk about the wall anymore.”
