President Donald Trump just signed it at the White House. His executive order has shocked the U.S. military and Americans nationwide are talking about it. This is a stunning development.
As reported by Breitbart News, Trump was set to “announce an executive order” to protect U.S. military and intelligence personnel from being investigated by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
On Thursday, he did just that and signed the “Executive Order on Blocking Property Of Certain Persons Associated With The International Criminal Court,” and it can be read in full here.
Here’s the problem: The United States isn’t even part of the ICC and its very existence is a threat to our national sovereignty. But a disturbing, recent event, was the last straw for Trump.
In March, “an ICC appeals chamber voted … to allow investigations of U.S. military and intelligence personnel for alleged war crimes,” continued the report from Breitbart News.
In short, Trump’s executive order makes it clear that any such attempts by the ICC “without the consent of the United States” are void and establishes “significant consequences” for doing so.
